Excessive Sweating

Often caused by overactive muscles around the sweat glands that cause the sudden and intense expulsion of sweat from the glands, excessive sweating can be both embarrassing and uncomfortable and impact significantly on daily life.  If you are experiencing discomfort and unease from these symptoms we are able to help by relaxing the muscles around the sweat glands.

Excessive Sweating

control your sweats

The medical term for excessive sweating is hyperhidrosis and it cannot always be satisfactorily resolved with medial care and commercial products.

The principle of relaxing the muscles around the sweat gland is similar to the relaxation of excessive activity of muscles of expression (frown, eyes, forehead, brows) on the face.

This then results in less sweating from the armpits reducing or resolving the embarrassment that is very often experienced by clients who experience this condition.  This treatment can last up to 6 months and is ideal for both men and women.

Frequently asked questions

FAQs about Excessive Sweating

How does the treatment work?

Botox injections block the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which binds with your sweat glands to signal the release of sweat.

Normally, your nervous system activates your sweat glands when your body temperature rises. This is how your body automatically cools itself.

In people with excessive sweating however, the nerves that signal the sweat glands are overactive.

When you receive Botox injections directly into the area of your body that commonly sweats, your overactive nerves are essentially paralyzed. When your nerves can’t signal your sweat glands, you don’t sweat. Botox only prevents sweating in the specific area where it’s injected.

Which areas can be treated?

We are able to treat the armpit area.

How long do results last?
