CyroPen Treatments

This advanced procedure will be carried out our aesthetic nurse, Giulia, who will provide an initial consultation where she will examine any areas to be treated before commencing treatment. Your initial consultation cost will include treatment of up to 5 lesions/skin tags. Further tags will be charged extra and this will be advised at the time of your appointment.

Depending on the size of the area to be be treated, one CryoPen treatment may be enough followed by an extra visit 4-6 weeks later to confirm that all pathological tissue has disappeared. However, in most cases a further treatment will be required.

Frequently asked questions

FAQs about Cyropen

How does the CryoPen treatment work?

Cryopen is a form of cryotherapy which is the controlled destruction of unwanted tissue by the precise application of extreme cold. It uses highly pressured liquid nitrous oxide to destroy the tissue quickly and with little residual stinging. Nitrous oxide destroys tissue by freezing the intercellular fluid and forming ice shards and crystals that rupture the cell membrane, destroying the cell. Because it is delivered directly to the lesion, and not the healthy surrounding tissue, it can safely treat lesions on the face and areas around the eyes.

Is the treatment painful?

CryoPen treatment is relatively pain-free. Some clients will experience a mild stinging sensation for a matter of seconds.

Is there any downtime?

Due to the nature of CryoPen treatments, there isn’t much aftercare required as the area is known to heal quickly with minimal issues.

For 48 – 72 hours after treatment it is important that you do not sunbathe or use other heat treatments such as sunbeds, sauna or steam. This also includes avoiding swimming, hot showers and baths.

How many treatments will I need?

Depending on the size of the area to be treated, one treatment may be enough followed by a follow up visit 4-6 weeks later to confirm that all pathological tissue has disappeared. In some cases a futher treatment may be required.
